Accident: Tipper truck crashes into ambulance killing 4

An accident involving an ambulance and a truck at Beahu, a community in the Ahanta West District of the Western region has claimed the lives of at least 4 persons.

The truck with registration number GT 7348-15 believed to be heading towards Tarkwa from Takoradi rammed into the ambulance numbered GV 1453-14 which was travelling from the Dixcove government hospital to the Effia Nkwanta regional hospital.

The ambulance had six passengers on board.

The casualties have been confirmed by the Western regional MTTD Commander Chief Supt Richard Appiah.

Two of the passengers who survived the accident are being treated in a nearby health facility.

Accident scene at Beahu in the Western Region

 Nsawam Accident

 Nine persons were confirmed dead with twenty others injured in an accident that occurred at Teacher Mante, near Nsawam in the Eastern Region, Thursday evening.

The accident occurred when A VIP bus heading towards Accra with registration number GE 2393 10, and a cargo truck, registered GT 1327 10, heading towards Kumasi, collided head-on.

Yapei Accident 

9 passengers died instantly while about 30 other passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to Tamale Teaching Hospital after an accident at Yapei on Saturday.

The accident occurred after a Kumasi bound Yuntong bus with registration GC 5148- Z collided head-on with a Kia bus with number GT 5892- 16 at Yapei in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region.

61 die through road accidents in Upper West Region

Various road traffic accidents that occurred in the Upper West Region in 2017 claimed a total of 61 lives resulting in an increase from the 54 persons that were killed in 2016.

The total number of fatal road accidents also increased from 48 in 2016 to 54 in 2017 while the total number of persons injured again increased from 240 to 276 respectively.
