Two masons suspected of breaking into the house of a reverend minister and stealing various items running into thousands of Ghana cedis have been arrested.

The paddies, Kwesi Annor and Godwin Achor 2, allegedly  stolen irems including a laptop, an iPad, a mobile phone, an MP3 player and an amount of GH¢6,000 when the pastor hired their services.

According to the Madina Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent A Nantogma Yakubu, the victim who lives at Redco, near Madina in Accra, engaged Godwin Achor for a masonry work in his house on June 18, 2016 and paid his full wage before he left the house.

In the evening, Godwin contacted his friend, Kwesi Annor, and together they went to the victim’s house while he was away and used a screw driver to open the sliding window and entered to the victim’s room to steal the items.

When police apprehended the suspects after the case had been reported and a search was conducted at their residence, most of the stolen items were recovered with the exception of the MP3. A greater part of the money had also been spent leaving only GH¢1,000.

While investigations were being conducted into the case, it came to light that Godwin Achor had been involved in other cases of theft at Madina and its environs.

Chief Superintendent Yakubu said what Achor often did whenever he was engaged to work in a house was that he critically studied the house to find out how he could gain access into it without the consent of the owner, and after work, he would organize his men to break into it to steal.

Kwesi Annor and Godwin Achor will soon be sent to court for prosecution, Daily Guide reported.
