Two onion sellers busted for bag-snatching

Two young men who attempted to rob a woman at Anyaa in Greater Accra Region have been arrested by the police.

The duo, Ali Mohammed aka Alifa, 23 years of age and Yaw Kwarshie aka Joe, 27 are onion sellers in the area. 

The suspects, while riding an unregistered motorbike, snatched the bag of the victim who had come from Kpando in the Volta region to visit her daughter at Ablekuma last Friday.

The bag contained assorted clothes valued at GH¢800.

A man in his private car who witnessed the incident chased the suspects to the Fan Milk junction where they were arrested by some good samaritans.

One of the good samaritans who attempted to collect a knife pulled by Mohammed in his bid to escape arrest was reportedly cut on the right arm.

According to the Anyaa District Police Commander, DSP Christian Kpordji, Anyaa District Commander the two will be processed for court after their investigations.
