Two Police officers shot dead in the Ashanti Region

Two Police officers, Inspector Adolph Mutse and Constable Prosper Ashinyo have been shot and killed at Drobonso near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region.

The two officers, together with their other colleagues were reportedly returning from official duty when they were attacked by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Thursday January 11.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, confirming the incident on Accra FM said: “Yes two of the officers who were returning from an official duty have been killed by unknown men. I got the news this morning from the DCE of the area.

"The other officers who sustained various injuries have also been admitted to the hospital and are receiving treatment.

“My condolences to the family of the bereaved families and the entire Ghana Police Service.”

He said investigations will be conducted into the matter to bring the perpetrators to book.
