This year's Ash Wednesday will be celebrated on March 6 2019, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten season that seeks to prepare Christians especially Catholics for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
 Some churches in Ghana like the Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Episcopalians and Lutherans will tomorrow March 6 join the rest of the world to celebrate the Ash Wednesday.
Explaining the Ash Wednesday celebration to Prime News Ghana, Assistant Parish Priest of St. James Catholic Church in Accra, Rev. Father Prince Adelaayitar said the day marks the beginning of Lenten season and Catholics are required to partake in the celebration.
According to him, members of the church will fast and pray on the day and also plan their activities for the 40 days journey to Easter.
