The Volta River Authority (VRA) has donated 40 classroom tables and chairs to the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC).

The donation was in response to a request that was made by the ATTC to VRA to support the school, during its 60th-anniversary celebration in December 2017.

Presenting the furniture to the school, the Director, Head of Communications of the VRA, Mrs. Gertrude Koomson, said VRA placed premium on education.

She said that was why the institution had the Akosombo International School and an academy, which provided skills and professional training for the staff of the company.

Mrs. Koomson added that it was against that background that the company did not hesitate when the ATTC called for its support.

Mrs. Koomson hinted of collaboration with the ATTC for its students to do internship training at the VRA.

She encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and become women and men of substance in the society.

The Principal of the ATTC, Mr. Ernest Bediako Asare, who received the items on behalf of the school, commended the VRA for the gesture.

He said the furniture would be put to good use and that it will reduce overcrowding in the classrooms.

Mr. Bediako Asare added that the government had been of great help to the school and called on other cooperate bodies and institutions to also support the institution.

He said for its part, the ATTC would continue to train its students to be able to contribute meaningfully to national development.
