The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has refuted claims of an ongoing recruitment exercise, warning the public against falling for social media scams.
In a press release dated June 20, 2025, the Service clarified that it is not conducting any recruitment and that all official announcements will be made solely through the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers, not on social media.
GIS cautioned the public to ignore fraudulent recruitment offers, particularly those demanding payment in exchange for jobs. It also raised concerns about fake social media pages impersonating the Service using its images and videos to deceive unsuspecting individuals. The Service described these acts as criminal and urged perpetrators to stop.
Prospective applicants were advised to remain patient and vigilant, and to report any suspicious recruitment claims to the Ghana Police or the nearest GIS office.
The statement was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration, M. Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs.
