A 38-year-old woman, Ruth Serwaa, has fallen from the third floor a four-storey building at Bantama in Kumasi.
Neighbours said that Serwaa was pushed over by her husband, Kofi Amoako, during an altercation, according to a report by myjoyonline.com.
She is said to have suffered a life-threatening injury and was rushed Komfo Anokye Hospital.
Neighbours of the couple are said to be shocked by the incident, as Amoako was said to be a calm person.
Amoako has, however, denied pushing his wife over, saying that she ran  towards the corridor after seeing him enter the house from outside.
He explained, according to the report, that in an attempt to avoid him for apparently for failing to cook, she tipped over and fell.
The report added that Serwaa’s mother, Alice, alleged that Amoako had been abusing her daughter for years.
Amoako is currently in police custody.
