2024 elections: Independent Candidate snatches Asante Akyem North seat from NPP's Appiah Kubi

NPP's Andy Appiah-Kubi has lost his bid to retain the Asante Akyem North seat.

This comes after the incumbent MP lost heavily in the just 2024 elections to independent candidate, Ohene Kwame Frimpong.

Mr Frimpong won with 26, 926 votes, while Mr Appiah - Kubi got 8,933 votes.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s candidate, Kofi Asamoah, got 2,469 votes.

Over in the East Region, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine successfully retained the Bolgatanga East parliamentary seat in the  for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with 12,002 votes.

He defeated his nearest rival, Mathew Silas Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 7,415 votes.

At the La Dadekotopon Constituency, the NDC Member of Parliament Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, successfully retained her seat with 16,976 votes. 

After the results from 101 polling stations were collated, her nearest rival, Joseph Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), secured 8,410 votes.
