New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has conceded defeat to John Mahama in the just ended 2024 elections.

Speaking at his residence Bawumia stated that the Ghanaians have spoken and he respects their decision.

He also expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for the opportunity to serve as a vice president and presidential candidate.

Bawumia revealed that he had called Mahama and congratulated him.

He did this after 'data from the NPP's collation centre indicated that Mahama has own decisively'.

However, the electoral Commission is yet to declare the official results.

Bawumia assured Mahama that the transfer of power would go smoothly.
