A former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has indicated that Dr Bryan Acheampong, the current MP for Abetifi, is positioning himself to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidacy in the next election.

Speaking to reporters, Appiah-Kubi said the groundwork was being laid for Acheampong to lead the party, touting him as a unifying figure with the potential to reinvigorate the NPP’s base.

“The task on our hearts is to present a great candidate who can redeem our party, and Dr Bryan Acheampong is preparing himself for that mission,” he said.

“He will speak for himself in due course, but I am only a messenger. From what I know, he is the one—and his work speaks volumes.”

Appiah-Kubi described Dr Acheampong as a candidate who blends intellect with business success, claiming such a combination gives him a unique edge in the race.

“If we are looking for a candidate with intellectual prowess, Bryan is the one. If we want a successful business mogul, he’s that too. So with him, we’re killing two birds with one stone… he is a symbol of victory,” he added.

He also acknowledged the need for the NPP to resolve internal divisions and present a united front ahead of the next presidential contest.
