Ghana is at a stage where it needs a united party like the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to govern it, National Chairman of the party, Kofi Portuphy has stated.

According to him, the main opposition party, the New Patriotic Party was a divided house which was not ready to govern the country, therefore, must be shunned.

"We can't put the destiny of this nation into the hands of the NPP "who are divided" and are on suspension spree", he stated while addressing supporters at the party's 2016 manifesto at Sunyani on Saturday.

He commended party faithfuls for the amazing support that the party had received and urged them to be disciplined in order not bring chaos into the party as the elections approach saying, "the unity we have is symbolic and important. We need to keep it."

He further urged to "back to the constituencies to spread the message to other people"

"Let's help the needy, let's carry the sick and let's help the poor to go out and vote for the NDC. though "we have won the election already but all of us need to come and vote for John Mahama because there will be no government like Mahama and the NDC's".
