Akufo-Addo asks for support and prayers to succeed

President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked Ghanaians to support and pray for him as he embarks on a journey to lead the country to prosperity.

According to him, considering the great task ahead of him, he would need divine guidance to enable him succeed.

“I hope and pray that in everything that I am going to do, I will be guided by the almighty God. I believe sincerely, that it is only with his guidance and support that I can do anything positive for the people of Ghana. I will be on my knees every day, praying for guidance and support from the almighty so that we can, working together bring prosperity and progress to our nation,” and “I am counting on all of you to continue to give me the solidarity, the support and keep me in your prayers every single day for the years ahead", he said while speaking at the Ridge Church in Accra on Sunday.

He expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for believing in him and voting massively for him in last Wednesday's polls.

Mr Akufo-Addo who was on Friday, November 9 declared president-elect after polling 53.85 percent of the total valid votes cast, to beat incumbent president, John Mahama's 44.40 percent further commended Ghanaians for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the elections.
