President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, has praised President John Mahama for his matured conduct even after losing the 2016 elections.

According to him, Akufo-Addo, Mahama has done well in office, by holding the country together and Ghanaians must be thankful for that.

Addressing members of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference who paid a courtesy call on him at his Nima residence on Friday, the president-elect said, "I think all of us in Ghana have to be thankful that we have in him [Mahama] a man who is also devoted to the peace and stability of our country. He has comported himself in a manner to ensure a smooth transition"

“We believe that the manner in which he is going about it, is reassuring to our peace especially when you see what is going on in other parts of our continent and we have to be thankful for that.

“He came to the office during a delicate moment in the history of our nation and he stepped up to the bench. He has held the state together", he added.
