Akufo-Addo's choice for Ghana Standards Authority boss turns down appointment?

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's choice for the position of Director of the Ghana Standards Authority has turned down the appointment.

According to reports, President Akufo-Addo's choice, Dr Addai-Mensah Otchere declined the offer after a meeting held with the president at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, which was supposed take effect from March 7, 2017.

Though he has declined to comment on the matter, sources close to him, information available indicate that his decision not to accept the post is borne out of personal reasons.

Dr Otchere is a former acting Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, College of Health Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and is the Head of Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and College of Health Sciences of KNUST.

He has been a regular radio panellist for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) in the Ashanti region for some time now.Â
