New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s turn at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Evening Encounter has been postponed to Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Nana Akufo-Addo was scheduled to take his turn on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 but it is not yet known why postponement came about.

The People’s National Convention’s (PNC) Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama and Convention People’s Party’s (CPP) Ivor Kobina Greenstreet have had their turns on the evening encounters.

The Evening Encounter provides an opportunity for presidential candidates of parties with Members of Parliament to open up on an abridged version of their manifestos.

However, President John Dramani Mahama would not participate after his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) decided to boycott the IEA's programmes.

A series for vice presidential candidates has also been scheduled while presidential candidates of parties with no representation in Parliament will also have their turn in a special event.
