Suspended Ablekuma West Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nii Djabang Abbey has launched a blistering attack on the party's flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo describing him as a "distasteful leader".

According to him, the party's current leadership had neglected mechanisms which were put in place to appease aggrieved parties to the detriment of the  unity in the party.

"The party previously had a machinery to calm the nerves of people who felt aggrieved in the NPP" but that has been ignored, he said.

Speaking on Class FM's Executive Breakfast Show on Wednesday, Mr Abbey stated that the situation was so bad that it was not making it attractive to serve the party.

"When you are a constituency chairman of the NPP, you use your own resources to run party activities" and you get persecuted as well he stated, stressing, "the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo is distasteful".

Nii Djabang Abbey, was earlier in the year suspended for his perceived dissenting views to the leadership style of the NPP flagbearer and has been  more critical ever since.

He is on record to have accused the party's National Executive Council (NEC) of skewing the parliamentary primary which was held in April in favour of Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
