George Boateng, the gentleman who attempted to contest President John Mahama in a primary of National Democratic Congress' (NDC) and overtake him as the party's candidate for the 2016 presidential elections, has endorsed the opposition New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, Nana Addo is a selfless leader who will take good care of the nation's resources when given the chance to govern.

Speaking at the NPP's national rally to climax their 2016 Campaign, Mr Boateng described President Mahama as a thief who had in collaboration with the Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, stolen monies from the scheme to support his reelection bid.

"But unlike Mahama, Nana Addo is not a thief but selfless leader who has good policies which will bring economic reform to Ghanaians", he stated.

Although not well known in the ruling party, Mr Boateng made a lot of headlines  when he declared his intention to contest the president claiming that, “I will do a better job at the presidency than what President Mahama is presently doing”.

His picking of the NDC's nomination forms led to the punishment of  the executives in his constituency.
