Primenewsghana has gathered that the Deputy Agriculture Minister William Quaitoo has resigned, after making a comment about northerners.
Responding to complaints by farmers whose farms were invaded by army worms that they needed more help than what they had received, Mr. Quaitoo said "northerners are difficult " people, though he conceded he lived with them for more than twenty years. He later apologized but that was not enough to save his job.
Director of Communications Eugene Arhin said the president has accepted his resignation and thanked him for his service to the country.
