Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei is expected to appear before parliament today Wednesday, 26 July to answer questions relating to the 2016 general elections.

Her presence in the house comes on the back of an invitation to brief the house on how monies taken from journalist for accreditation to cover the 2016 general elections were expended.

The commission is also expected to tell the lawmakers how much the commission spent on the exercise to replace lost Voter ID Cards amongst other related matters.

The invitation was disclosed by the Majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu last week during the presentation of business for this week.

Considering the current feud at the electoral commission, it is uncertain who the commission’s chair will appear in parliament with.

Mrs Osei is currently fighting stiff opposition from some staff of the EC who have petitioned the Presidency demanding her impeachment.

She has in a counter action sued the lawyer of the petitioners Matthew Opoku Agyemang for defamation, after he refused to disclose the names of the petitioners as demanded by the EC Chair.
