Mrs Charlotte Osei, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, says plans have been put in place to ensure that the 2016 elections are run freely and fairly.

She told traditional rulers of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Wednesday that her plans would ensure that the country does not witness another election petition hearing after the elections.

Madam osei also stated that the commission would not influence the election results in any way.

"There is no way all of us at the Electoral Commission can change the results. It is nearly impossible for you to change the election results.

"You have to be at 29,000 polling stations, you have to change the results on all the sheets of the party agents who are there and run to the coalition centers to change the results before coming to declare the results. Nana, I would need Superman powers to be able to do that," she said.

Madam Osei said the commission had already implemented 27 electoral reforms to ensure a smooth electoral process on December 7.
