Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Youth League, Hadi Yakubu has called for the resignation of the party’s recently chosen running mate, Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah.

Hadi and his comrades contend Nana Nketiah whom he claimed revealed that he is a card bearing member of rival, New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot serve the interest of the CPP hence must renounce his membership in the NPP or step down from his post in the CPP since he can’t have his cake and eat it.

Hadi Yakubu further stated it was an insult to the rank and file of the party for a card bearing member of another party to be made a vice presidential candidate of another.

But the Director of Communications at the CPP, Issifu Abdul Kadri observed the call for Nana Nketiah’s resignation was neither here nor there as he’s known to have been an advisor to ex-president Kufuor.

He noted the attributes and years of experience Nana brings to the CPP ticket was immense hence the decision to settle on him adding per the NPP constitution, he taking up the CPP offer renders his membership of the NPP void.

Political Lecturer, Dr. Evans Aggrey Darko also found nothing strange about Nana Nketiah’s unique position stating since the CPP was preaching about inclusive government, settling on Nana Nketiah was a smart move to rope in non-traditional votes for the party.

He described Nana as calm, resourceful and understanding the intricacies of Ghanaian politics.
