The Communication Director for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Declaring his candidature, Mr Aboagye said his decision was driven by his years of service to the party and his desire to rebuild and strengthen the NPP’s communication structures ahead of future elections.
He recounted his journey within the party, describing himself as someone who rose through the ranks from the grassroots to become a key figure in the NPP’s communication team.
“I built everything I have from the ground up for this party. From a young man at Larteh Methodist Primary School polling station who believed, to a campaign communications director who went to war for this party on the biggest stage,” he said.
Mr Aboagye, who said he has spent 23 years organising and communicating for the party, argued that the NPP needs a communications leader who can do more than respond to political opponents but build a strong system capable of shaping public conversations.
He acknowledged the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections, saying he had studied the mistakes and identified gaps that need to be addressed.
According to him, the NPP must effectively communicate its achievements to Ghanaians and rebuild trust among citizens.
He said the party’s next communications leader must create a stronger network that equips communicators at all levels, from the national leadership to constituency structures.
Mr Aboagye said his focus would be on helping the NPP regain public confidence and prepare the party for future electoral contests.
