A casualty of the Electoral Commission’s disqualification announcement, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings has expressed her disgust at being barred from contesting this year’s election.

Madam Konadu who was disqualified on the grounds of having Illegitimate signatory declared at a press conference that her party and indeed others do not have the gadget and data to determine who is a multiple voter as it is only the Electoral Commission (EC) which has that date in its records.

The former first lady also implied if a signatory could endorse other aspirants with other voting details, it was the EC’s failure to detect and bar such persons from the electoral process such that political parties cannot be penalised for something they have no control over.

The peeved National Democratic Party’s presidential aspirant who was also disqualified at the last elections for filing after deadline time also described the EC’s act as illegal citing Sec 9 of C.I. 94.

She further charged the EC Chair of engaging in acts which could plunge the country into chaos.

“In partisan politics, you bring people together. She (Charlotte Osei) is trying to exclude people,” she bellowed.

According to the EC, one subscriber on page 89 of her nomination forms was not a validly registered voter. He had illegally registered twice and so was on the Exclusion list of multiple voters.

12 other aspirants including Mr. Thomas Ward-Brew, Kwame Asiedu Walker, Akua Donkor, Mr. Richard Nixon Tetteh, Dr. Henry Lartey, Paa Kwesi Nduom, Hassan Ayariga, Edward Mahama, Kofi Akpaloo and Kwabena Adjei have all been disqualified after being vetted and not measuring up to the requirements.
