The Electoral Commission (EC) is determined to organise a credible election, that’s according to Deputy Director in charge of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the EC, Alex Poku-Akubia.
He stated the commission has put in systems and organised training for its personnel to equip them for the task at hand noting for the first time, interested persons who sought to work with the commission were asked to apply online for transparency to rein.
According to Mr. Poku-Akubia, first degree and master’s degree holders have been enlisted as returning officers all in a bid to have safeguard the process.
He noted presiding officers, returning officers and polling agents of the political parties are being psychologically prepared for the job at hand adding they will also take oaths before magistrates pledging to abide by the code rendered by the commission failure of which they suffer penalties.
