Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has lauded President Nana Akufo-Addo’s approach to dealing with issues of corruption in the country.

According to the ex-President, who spoke to Citi News on the sidelines of an IEA forum on Sunday, the mechanism used in investigating the BOST saga cannot be faulted.

Mr. Kufuor said, the choice of who becomes the Special Prosecutor would be crucial to fighting corruption in the country.

He added at every stage of ensuring justice from reporting a case to investigating and judgement, the country needs good people in all areas.

“The President’s approach is the right one as he is a lawyer and must not convict people before investigating and trying them. The most important thing for all of us to look forward to is that, whoever is appointed the Prosecutor would be the right person,” he stated.

Getting the right person at the right places he said, would bring a solution to the corruption issues in the country.

President Akufo-Addo has initiated moves to create a Special Prosecutor’s office to deal with corruption issues in Ghana.
