New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his entourage on Tuesday got stranded as they waited for a ferry to convey them to across River Oti from Dambai to Krachi Nchumuru.

Nana Addo and his campaign team were scheduled to visit Nana Gonja and Nana Kanya at their palaces in Boree and Bejamse respectively as well as meeting with Kokomba Chiefs at Boree, all in the Krachi Nchumuru constituency before addressing a rally at Chindere and later at Kete-Krachi in the Krachi West constituency but were delayed because the ferry could not move from Dambai after a truck loaded with yam skidded off it and blocked its path.

According Joy News's Volta Regional Correspondent, Fred Quarm Asare, "the truck was partially submerged in the lake blocking the ferry from moving and it had to be towed out of the lake before the ferry could return".

Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen, Nana Addo's Spokesperson, Mustapha Hamid confirmed the incident saying they had been stranded for over two hours but the pontoon had been readied as the time he was speaking for them to cross the river.

"Though it has put us off schedule, we are not disturbed because we are encouraged by the massive support we have received so far", he said.
