Five men have been arrested at the Tema Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region for attempting to steal ballot boxes, it has been reported.
Six men are said to have stormed the Datus Complex Polling Station and attempted to steal the ballot boxes, but the police grabbed five of them, with one person escaping.
The TV3 Network reported that the police have mounted an intensive search for the man who escaped.
Meanwhile many Ghanaians who have cast their votes have been praising the Electoral Commission for what they say is a smooth process.
Many said they voted within a few minutes of reaching the polling stations and the process was free of hassle and intimidation.
