The flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has advised party supporters to disregard the “high five” refrain which represent the No.5 position he occupies on the ballot paper and relatively look out for the Elephant, which is the party’s symbol on the ballot paper when voting in the 7 December polls.

Addressing a press conference in Kumasi, Nana Akufo-Addo clarified that even though he is fifth on the presidential ballot paper, some of NPP parliamentary candidates would not be at No.5 on the ballot sheet, and as such party supporters needed to concentrate on the symbol of the party, the Elephant, instead of the number five.

“In this election, I have heard people say high-five, but I’m here to plead with you that what is most important is the elephant, because the NPP’s symbol is the elephant, the presidential candidate’s is also the elephant. Not all MPs will be number five on the ballot, so the most important thing is to remember the Elephant when you are voting.”
