Former Kufuor adviser named CPP running mate

A 72-year old retired diplomat , Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah, has been named as the running mate of Convention Peoples  Party (CPP) Preisdential Candidate, Ivor Kobina Greentsreet

According to statement from the party,  Nana Nketiah was chosen "squarely on the account of his versatility, understanding of party's philosophies and his great exposure and maturity"
Nana Nketiah is a traditional ruler and a businessman. He was born on 1st October 1943 at Fiapre near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.

He has a strong Nkrumaist background and as a “Guitarist he occasionally performed for Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah”. He is an engineer by profession and has served both in the Ghana and British Army.

By this nomination the party hopes he will effectively complement the flagbearer given his deep understanding of the predicaments of the country, the statement added.

Speaking on the selection of Nana Nketiah on Citi FM Thursday, Communications Director of the CPP, Kadir Abdul Rauf Issifu said “the party settled on him because of his level of exposure and maturity. He is an engineer by profession and he has also been working with the Ghana Armed Forces and the British Army so the party is very hopeful that this duo will lead the process of the new political and economic order in the country. As a retired economic diplomat, undoubtedly he has the international contacts and apart from that he has also served as an adviser to President Kufuor before; so he has a deeper appreciation of the problems of the country".
