National Youth Organizer of the Progressive People’s Party, Divine Nkrumah has labelled the president’s remission of sentence given the ‘Montie 3’ as disgraceful stressing his act shows he holds the citizenry and the justices in little regard.

Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako Gunn and Salifu Maase (Mugabe) were given a four month imprisonment term after being found to be in contempt of the Supreme Court.

The ‘Montie 3’ were given remission of sentences by president Mahama on Monday invoking powers in Article 72 of the 1992 constitution of Ghana. The trio are set to be released on Friday, August 26.

“Ghana is really sick and becoming a useless state led by a government which is not making himself useful for the state’’ Mr. Nkrumah thundered on the ‘Abusua Nkomo’ show.

He pondered whether Mahama was a president for Ghana or president for the NDC Party? “The President has totally brought division in the country and I think we should start praying for him not to bring this country into disrepute’’, he concluded.
