President Nana Akufo- Addo has said, his government has for the past six months, strengthened Ghana's economy to enhance growth.

Addressing the media in Accra, the President expressed confidence that the country is now on the right path to development as adequate measures have been put in place to turn around the fortunes of the economy.

According to the President, inflation dropping from 15.4% to 12% is an indication that there is already some progress taking place in his administration.

"We are stabilizing the micro economy and the cedi, reducing taxes as well as several measures are being undertaken to stimulate enterprise activities and growth,"he stated.

He added that, the country would witness the benefits of more jobs and an expanding economy under the New Patriotic Party's administration.

"Very soon, jobs would be created for millions of Ghanaians across the length and breadth of the country courtesy government's initiatives,"he stated.

Despite meeting the economy in a very bad state, he said, they have worked very hard for the past six months and have achieved appreciable results.

Government has also stepped up processes for the implementation of the 'one million dollars for each constituency' initiative with its bill laid before parliament.

The programme which would be managed by the Development Authority would provide one million dollars for each of the 275 constituencies to undertake developmental projects at the local level.
