Business mogul and 2016 flagbearer of the Progressive Peoples Party [PPP] Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, says his engagement in Ghanaian politics does not give him a pesewa.

Papa Kwesi Nduom maintains politics has never been his first job. His various entrepreneural ventures which has spawned many businesses across the length and breadth of the country give him the needed revenue for his survival.

Speaking in an interview on JoyFM, He expressed the belief that politicians are to contribute to the growth of the country, which takes something from them, but not the other way round, making a fortune at the expense of the electorate.

"I see politics as a public service and must be a motivation to serve your country."

According to him many politicians have turned paupers after exiting office because their only source of income was politics.

“You can get hungry [and] I don’t want to be a hungry, desperate person…That [politics] is something that you do when you’ve accomplished something," he said.

It is therefore imperative he added, that persons that seek to venture into politics first secure alternative sources of income to fend for themselves and families. This will enable them focus well on their mandate to deliver progressive development to the people.
