A former Interior Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Navrongo Central, Mark Owen Woyongo has admitted being one of the former government officials under the John Mahama’s administration who is yet to return his diplomatic passport as directed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

Mr Woyongo admission follows governments decision to revoke all diplomatic passports being held by former appointees of the John Mahama administration.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey on Wednesday revealed that though many of the former appointees had returned their passports, there were some yet to comply with the directive. She warned against any further use of the passports.

"We've signalled them that very soon they will be put on the 'stop list' if they failed to return their passports", she stated on Joy FM.

In an interview with Adom FM, Mr Woyongo stated that his case is different because he had misplaced the diplomatic passport and has not used it since the change of government.

He explained that, “I haven’t returned my diplomatic passport to the state because I can’t find it and as soon as I find it I will return it to the appropriate quarters”.

“I used to live in my official state bungalow at Cantonment in Accra, when I was parking out to my private residence, I misplaced it but immediately I find it I will return” the former minister stressed.
