Highlife music icon 'Abrantie' Amakye Dede has reacted to claims after performing on an NPP platform that he is a party member.

A bemused Dede submitted, he was contracted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to play at Agogo in the Asante Akim North constituency and that was where he thought the story ended till malicious rumours started making the rounds that he asked attendees to vote for Nana Addo.

“I was hired by an NPP MP who paid me and hired my singing band to join their party commission a new office at Agogo in the Asante Akim North constituency. I will never involve myself in politics ever . .when I had an accident recently even President Mahama visited and paid for my hospital bills  ..." the native of Agogo explained.

Amakye intimated that since he was a musician, any client who needed his services and could pay his charge would enjoy his God given skill of singing and entertaining since that was his major source of income.

He debunked claims he endorsed Nana Addo at the commissioning urging Peace News host Nana Adjei Sikapa to play the audio tape to that effect if anyone claims he possesses it.
