Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY) has promised to establish an industry each for all the notable natural resources the country is blessed with.

The independent candidate heading to the country’s presidential election took his turn at Ghana Television and Star Ghana’s presidential encounters on Monday night.

According to Mr. Yeboah who is a professional electrician, he views democracy in a different light explaining it shouldn’t be all about winning elections but rather exchanging ideas and building of consensus for nation building.

He disclosed that during the power crisis branded as ‘dumsor’, he offered options which could contain the situation, some of which were imbibed by the current government.

He mentioned that he went to the Energy Commission and exposed to them a project he had worked on in 1994 which they could borrow a leaf from adding he even wrote a direct letter to President Mahama on plans he could adopt to ease the burden on Ghanaians.

According to Jacob Osei Yeboah, his government will introduce a second chamber in Ghana’s parliament which will host traditional leaders, minsters of faith and persons living with disability to enrich consensus building.

He also pledged to implement the report of the Constitutional Review Committee.

Research Fellow at the of the Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG), Dr Kwesi Jonah however expressed regret that despite Mr. Yeboah’s optimism, he will find it difficult ruling even when he wins given the polarized nature of the country’s parliament.

He stated in such an atmosphere, a government of national unity was impossible when members of parliament only unite to vote as a bloc and not on NDC and NPP lines when salary increment and improved emoluments is up for discussion.
