Still on his Eastern Regional tour, President Mahama, seeking a second term from the electorates has disclosed that his next government will institute a ‘Farmers Support Fund’ which oil palm farmers can access to maintain, expand and modernise their farm holdings.

He stated at Kade that it was shame for Ghana to import edible oil from Malaysia “when we have the land, sunshine and good soil.”

Candidate Mahama pledged to help young men interested in the oil palm business to acquire land and facilitate the process for them to become wealthy oil palm farmers.

President Mahama began his tour of the Eastern Region to consolidate the gains made in the region bearing in mind ‘Agenda 50/50’ set to split votes with the NPP whose presidential aspirant hails from the region.

He commissioned another Community Day School at Takrowase yesterday and will commission another at Fodoa in the Kwahu area this morning. Yesterday, he campaigned in Kade and Asamankese.

He will also address mini rallies at Ahomahomaso, Anyinam and Osino.
