Increase ballot issuers at polling centres where poll started late - Director of Electoral Service orders

Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission Mr. Samuel Tetteh has said the Commission has made provisions in a way that polling stations which started the voting process elections later than the scheduled time to increase the number of screens and ballot issuers to speed up the process in other to catch up this the closing time. 

"In relation to the late starting of the poll, we have also made provisions in such a way that the District Officer can increase the number of screens as well as the number of ballot issuers to facilitate the process.’’

Addressing the press on the latest update in the ongoing voting exercise, the Director of Electoral Services, Mr. Samuel Tetteh said, “voters who will also join the queue before close of poll [5pm] will be allowed to vote no matter how long the queue is”.

According to him, the EC has receive any report of breakdown of their devices and also specific instructions has been given to their officers for the batteries to be changed every four hours and if the instructions are followed, they will not encounter any problem.
