In a bid to woo youthful voters, National Democratic Party (NDP) flagbearer, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has chosen 47-year-old Michael Sosu as her running mate.
Disclosing her choice of running mate to the media after filing her nomination forms to contest the presidential election, she expressed hope that the decision to select a youthful running mate will help the party appeal to the youth who make up about 60 percent of the population.
“Whether we like it or not Ghana has more youth population and we need somebody who is youthful and relate to the young people", the former first lady added.
Mr Sosu who becomes the third running mate in the 2016 elections to be slected from the Volta Region after the Progressive People’s Party's  (PPP) Bridget Dzogbenuku and the People's National Convention (PNC) Emmanuel Anyidoho who is an economist, is expected to be outdoored over the weekend in his home region.
