As part of efforts to engage the public on the party’s 24-hour economy proposal, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti region has announced plans to hit the principal streets of Kumasi with former President John Mahama.

The event originally planned for December 2023, but postponed due to the District Level Elections has been fixed for January 24

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Dr. Frank Amoakohene in a statement said the event aims to raise awareness about the policy among the region's residents.

Former President John Mahama, NDC's National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and regional executives, led by Regional Chairman Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi, will participate in the walk.

The procession will be held on the principal streets of the Kumasi metropolis, and attendees will finally converge at the Kumasi Jubilee Park, where speakers, including the NDC’s flagbearer, John Mahama, will address them.

“The planned route for the walk is as follows: Aboabo Post Office, through Pelele to On-the-ran to Manhyia Hospital, proceeding to Alabar Street, Kejetia Roundabout, Hello FM, A-life, Asafo Overpass, Labour Roundabout, and concluding at Jubilee Park,” the statement added

As part of his activities, the NDC flagbearer will embark on the 'Building the Ghana We Want Tour', engaging with different sectors of the community such as traders, organized labour, artisans, and students.

The community engagements aim to offer an invaluable opportunity for John Dramani Mahama to communicate his vision, listen to the concerns of the people, and collect direct feedback from the grassroots.

The NDC expressed anticipation for a highly productive and interactive series of events that will strengthen the connection between the party and the people of the Ashanti Region.
