President John Dramani Mahama has accused a “cabal” within of blocking his message of “transformation”.

He told Ovation magazine in an interview that some anti-National Democratic Congress (NDC) elements had over a section of the media and were downplaying the development projects he had undertaken.

“A certain group has taken control of the media in Ghana, and it makes it difficult for people to discern the truth. So as much as you are putting out the information, it is either being blocked or distorted,” he said.

President Mahama also rejected accusations that he had failed to sanction his appointees who had been accused of corruption.

According to him, if he listens to all the allegations that have been made against his ministers, he would have to sack every one of them.

He added, however, he had sanctioned some ministers who broke the law.

“For every allegation that is made, I have said I would consider the accusation seriously, we will investigate, and if those allegations are substantial that requires that I take action against a minister, I will do so. And I have done that in several cases, I have changed ministers,” he said.
