Mahama departs for World Economic Forum

President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra for a series of high-level international engagements, including participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and meetings in the United Kingdom focused on the Accra Reset Initiative.

A statement issued by the Presidency’s Communications Directorate and said the President left the country on Sunday, January 11, 2026, en route to the United Kingdom, where he is expected to hold discussions with coordinators of the Accra Reset Initiative.

According to the statement, the engagements in the UK form part of ongoing efforts to advance the initiative, which is aimed at repositioning Ghana’s governance, economic and institutional framework for sustainable national development.

Following the UK visit, President Mahama will proceed to Davos to participate in a session of the World Economic Forum, an annual global platform that brings together political leaders, business executives, academics and civil society actors to deliberate on pressing global economic and development issues.

The President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders on the margins of the Davos Forum, as part of Ghana’s broader diplomatic and economic engagement strategy.
