President John Mahama's 'Accounting to the People' tour the Northern Region was temporarily disrupted on Wednesday after students of the Nalerigu Nursing College embarked on a massive demonstration the same time the president entered the town.

The angry students, chanting 'no allowance, no vote,’ marched through streets of Nalerigu while the president and his entourage were paying courtesy calls on traditional leaders.

Some of the students were also seen carrying placards with inscriptions like, “Times are hard”, “Mr. president always post us to the various health institutions,” “what are you accounting to us?”, “Our colleagues are still at home,” etc. through the streets of the town to protest against the cancellation of their allowances as well as delayed postings.

The development, according to atinkaonline, compelled the president’s entourage to change route to avoid a direct confrontation with the students.
