Presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to “listen to the grassroots and make the right choice” at the upcoming national delegates conference.
In a video message released prior to the event scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon, Ken Agyapong emphasized that delegates should vote in alignment with grassroots preferences, stating they are truly the “voice of the people."
According to him, selecting a candidate who reflects the will of ordinary Ghanaians is essential to secure victory in the 2028 general election
"Good morning, MPP delegates. I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all of you in Accra for the MPP Delegates Conference.
"I am imploring you to make a decision that accurately reflects the opinions of Ghanaians and the delegates, particularly those at the grassroots level," he stated.
He further remarked, "They represent the voice of the people, and we must heed their call. If they desire a victory for us, we should honor their choice.
"Thus, I am urging all delegates to make the correct decision to assist this party in winning the 2028 elections."
Welcome to Accra, my brothers and sisters of the NPP.

In the meantime, the Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Joseph Osei-Owusu, has reassured party members and the public that the conference will take place as scheduled, despite requests from some members for a change of date.
While speaking to reporters, Mr. Osei-Owusu confirmed that the National Council had received an official petition requesting a change in the conference date.
However, "after thorough consideration, the Council has resolved to uphold the original timetable," he declared.
