Massive crowds have received Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice-presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as he began his tour of the Central Region.

Speaking to animated supporters in Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency, Dr Bawumia made a passionate case for change, stressing that the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress( NDC) had destroyed the economy and made life difficult for Ghanaians.

According to him, NDC policies have benefitted only a few people in society.

“The situation we see now is that though there is a lot of money in our country but this money remains at the top, it does not come down and those at the top keep stealing it or stashing it in London, Dubai or Burkina Faso. This is what we want to change. We want the economy to work for you and we want you to enjoy the benefits of the resources of this land and your hard work”, he said.

He appealed to voters to elect the NPP to enable the party usher in a new period of economic renewal, development and jobs.

“We can only bring an end to the hardships we face today by going out to vote and voting massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and your Parliamentary Candidate, Anthony Effah. The NPP is coming to transform our economy and ensure that the economy and our abundant resources we have as a nation works for all to benefit”, he said.
