The filing of nomination forms by presidential, independent candidates and aspiring parliamentarians starts today and concludes tomorrow (Friday) at various EC offices from 9am to 5pm according to the Electoral Commission (EC).
The New Patriotic Party is expected to submit the forms of their presidential nominee, Nana Akufo Addo today to ward off any eligibility crisis.
Nana Akufo-Addo’s filled nomination forms are expected to be filed by 9:00am today according to party sources while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) does same for its presidential nominee, John Mahama on Friday.
Presidential hopefuls are to pay GH¢50,000 while parliamentary aspirants settle the GH¢10,000 fee but the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) unenthused by the stipulated fees has filed a suit at the High Court seeking an interrogatory injunction to prevent the EC from receiving the nominations.
