Six flag bearer aspirants of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have petitioned the party's Council of Elders to again reduce the filing fee.

The six namely Alban Bagbin, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Sylvester Mensah, Goosie Tanoh, Alhaji Nurudeen Iddrisu and Stephen Atubiga are asking for the fee to be reduced from GH¢300,000 to GH¢150,000.

NDC initially fixed their filing fee at GH¢400,000 but eight of the aspirants said the figure was outrageous.

A meeting was held between the Council of Elders and NEC and it was slashed to GH¢300,000.

Now six aspirants want the GH¢300,000 reduced to GH¢ 150,000 and again suggested that they would contribute a minimum of GH¢50,000 each towards the organisation of the primaries to bring their total payment to GH¢200,000.

Sources also say the aspirants also wanted the date for the submission of the filing forms to be extended by two weeks to enable them to meet with delegates across the 275 constituencies to fill their forms.
