The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been accused of attempting to register underaged persons in the ongoing limited voters registration exercise in the Tamale Metropolis.

According to an official of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jocelyn Techi, members of the NDC were threatening NPP agents who were protesting against the registration of the minors.

This action by the NDC, she said, was distracting activities at the centre.

"The challenge here is the minors they areregistering, it's too bad. They come  with a minor to register and when you try to challenge, they come with a quarrel that if you don't give the card to the person they will beat you up. It's so bad...at the end of the day, people will come and plead that they need the card", she said.

She added, " there is this man who has been sitting here, he will keep calm and when the day ends, he will plead and take all the cards that were challenged and distribute to them. He is making everything difficult for us. So they are making our work difficult for us,especially the NDC agents, their chairmen and executives".

The situation had created chaos at the Sakasaka registration centre,  starrfmonline reported.
