The National Democratic Congress(NDC) is confident President John Dramani Mahama has won the elections and officials and supporters are trooping to his residence in celebration.
Mayor of Accra,who also won the Ablekuma South constituency parliamentary seat, Mr. Oko Vanderpuije,speaking to the media at the residence of the President said, with the results collated by the party, it is clear President Mahama has won the elections.
He added that,supporters should disregard claims by the New Patriotic Party(NPP) that they have won the elections but wait for the Electoral Commission to declare the results.
Adding his voice,Greater Accra Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC),Thomas Ashong said though the NPP has won most of the parliamentary seats, the President also won the presidential elections in that area.
"The President has won almost all the constituencies that the parliamentary candidates lost and that is victory for President Mahama and supporters must continue celebrating our victory."
