The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will wrestle the Suhum and Nsawam-Adoagyiri parliamentary seats from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections, Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has predicted.

According to him, per the support they have received from the two constituencies as part of President John Mahama's tour of the Eastern Region, he was optimistic that the NDC's candidates would defeat the incumbent MPs.

The Suhum parliamentary seat has been an NPP seat since the 1996 elections with Frederick Opare-Ansah serving as the MP since 2004 while Frank Annor-Dompreh is the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri which was carved out of the then Aburi-Nsawam constituency in 2012.

Despite the dominance of the NPP in the two constituencies, Dr Omane-Boamah believes that going by what he saw on Thursday, the NDC's candidate for Suhum, Margaret Ansei; and Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Benedicta Quartey were going to shock the NPP's candidates.

Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen, he said, "something is going to happen in the Suhum and Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituencies come December 7 and it'll shock the NPP".

"With the support Margaret Ansei and Benedicta Oyoo Quartey are enjoying, we're going to defeat Opare-Ansah and Annor-Dompreh", he stated with a laughter.
